Dating Show

The first project of my third year was to design a dating show for television.

For my dating show I decided to return o my cultural roots for inspiration and to slightly mock the tradition of parents choosing a partner for their child. The choice of the date would be made entirely by the parents without a say from the children.

I chose to run with the theme and used Indian architecture as a basis for my design. I wanted it to look like it was taking place in an Indian garden. Indian architecture and floral patterns heavily influenced the design of the fretwork and panels surrounding the set. White marble finish would be used on most of the structures and would be enhanced by the lighting to create striking shadows and silhouettes. A painted cyclorama would surround the set to which would help to give the impression of an Indian garden at dusk, shown on the model.
